NEW COVID guidelines in NZ

Effective from 15 August, the 7-day mandatory isolation period, and wearing of face masks for visitors in healthcare facilities has been removed.

If you have COVID-19 we recommend you isolate for at least 5 days, even if you only have mild symptoms.

Each individual hospital has different Covid regulations so it is best to visit the hospital website directly for up-to-date information on their current policy.

If you have upcoming surgery booked and have contracted Covid – please advise Dr Gittos, your anaesthetist and the hospital – as Covid could affect your health, surgery & recovery.

  • Dress in simple clothes as you may need to undress for examination
  • Bring your medical referral and any relevant medical documents or test results

  • A Referral from your GP or specialist is helpful but NOT essential – you can have a consultation without a GP Referral
